About Me
First in person exhibition after the pandemic. "Unmasked" at Gallery Azul in San Pedro.
Amy Sundahl grew up surrounded by the green hills of Northern California. The palette of blue sky, green and gold hills, grey coastal cliffs, and burnt orange redwoods still inform her work today. After moving to Southern California, Amy received a Bachelors of Art, emphasizing drawing and painting. There Amy began to be influenced by the abstract shapes and large planes of the city scape. These influences show up in structured spaces and textures in her work. To Amy, everyday life is rich in color, meaning, and moments of irony. Amy’s work has been compared to American artists such as Edward Hopper, Wayne Thiebaud, and Richard Diebenkorn. Amy currently lives in Long Beach.
